🌟 Get a Strong Grip on Thermodynamics with These Clear Notes! 🌟
Hey Class 11 CBSE students! Thermodynamics can feel a bit tricky at first with all the energy changes, laws, and processes, but these detailed yet straightforward notes will help you understand everything step by step – straight from the NCERT textbook!

What's inside:

1.Basic terms: System, surroundings, types of systems (open, closed, isolated), state functions vs path functions, intensive and extensive properties

2.Heat, work, and internal energy: Signs conventions, calculation of work in expansion/compression, first law of thermodynamics (∆U = q + w)

3.Enthalpy (H): Definition, relation between ∆H and ∆U (∆H = ∆U + ∆n_g RT), heat capacities at constant volume and pressure

4.Thermodynamic processes: Isothermal, adiabatic, isobaric, isochoric – with equations for ∆U, q, w, ∆H in each

5.Enthalpy changes: Standard enthalpy of formation, combustion, solution, atomization, phase transitions; Hess's law for calculating reaction enthalpies

6.Second law, entropy (S): Entropy as a state function, change in entropy for phase changes, reversible/irreversible processes, total entropy change

7.Spontaneity and Gibbs free energy (G): ∆G = ∆H - T∆S, criteria for spontaneity (∆G < 0), standard Gibbs energy, relation to equilibrium constant

8.Third law of thermodynamics: Entropy of perfect crystals at 0 K is zero

9.Colourful mind maps for quick visual revision of key topics and connections

10.Ready-to-use flashcards for memorizing functional groups, nomenclature rules, reaction types, and important definitions

Ideal for board exam prep, quick revisions, or building concepts for JEE/NEET! Everything explained in simple language with key formulas and important points highlighted.
